Nursing Home Compare. Before selecting a
nursing home and in order to get a better picture of the
care being provided, FATE recommends that a review of
the nursing homes' public record be looked at before a
selection is made. The public record for all nursing
homes is located at every state office that licenses and
monitors nursing homes. |

"Are
nursing homes in New Mexico putting profits over
patients?" by America
Tonight Investigates The problem of insufficient
staffing in nursing homes is rampant in every nursing
home in the country yet the government keeps paying the
facility operators for staffing using our tax dollars as
the majority of nursing home patients are under MediCare
and MediCaid (MediCal in California) ....Government
regulators are failing to monitor these facilities and
punishing them for their on-going failures resulting in
poor care and neglect of our most vulnerable
citizens.....if the nursing home operators are not held
accountable, the facilities will continue to operate for
the facility's benefit and not for the health and safety
of our loved ones that the nursing homes are being paid
to care for. No one should die from stage 4 bedsores
caused by the facility's failure to provide enough staff
to turn the patient every two hours...this is what they
are paid to do! Carole Herman |
