Foundation Aiding the Elderly (FATE) has been providing FREE information,

those dealing with elder abuse or mistreatment.
Below are a selection of comments we have received
from families we have assisted:

Thank you so much for your
kindness, dedication and steady guidance during
the most difficult time our family has faced. Your help
with getting a citation really made a difference and
truly strengthened our case. The work you do for
vulnerable elders does not go unnoticed. Our
sincere thanks and deep appreciation for all you did for
us. Larua, Jay, Kelly, Timothy Dickinson,
San Luis Obispo, CA

I want to express my
deepest gratitude for your support following
the passing of my life partner. Your expertise in
handling the complaint against the facility gave a voice
when our family felt we had none. Because of your
advocacy, we found a sense of justice and closure that
we could not have achieved alone. The work you
do is truly vital. Thank you for your help and
caring. Vickie Poliquin, Ventura, CA

Thank you FATE for all of your tireless efforts
on behalf of the elderly. Your work is so important and
it is a blessing to have an advocate like FATE providing
this vital and necessary public service. We are
happy to support such a great cause and organization.

Thank you so much for your diligence in and
attention to the matter with the nursing home.
Your knowledge and expertise have been, and are,
a tremendous blessing to not
only my family, but to others as well. Reading the
complaint you filed against the facility for the harm of
my sister made me angry all over again, seeing through
your words what my sister has endured these long 7
months. Trixie Jones, Sacramento, CA |

Thanks to FATE for competent and caring assistance given
to our family in a time of great distress. FATE
gave us the support and strength we needed to fight for
the rights of our family. The knowledge and
authority that FATE informed me of facilitated my
discussions with the executive director of the facility.
FATE is a true advocacy organization and I so appreciate
the times spent to help Mom and me. Dema and Thomas
Nave, Munich, Germany |

My mother passed away in an Oregon nursing home under
terrible circumstances. I spent countless hours
contacting the oversight agencies to hold the facility
accountable only to hear that what happened to my mother
was "unfounded". I was ready to give up when I read
about FATE and contacted the office for help.
For the first time in months, I have been able to sleep
knowing that FATE is willing and able to advocate for my
family "giving us hope where we had none".
I will forever be indebted to FATE for
helping us. Laurie Jeandin, Phoenix, Oregon |

Thank you for dedicating your life to helping
nursing home residents that can feel helpless.
One of the many reasons why we have so much respect for
FATE is because it is clear that FATE truly cares about
the individual person. FATE is an organization
built on a foundation of love for a family
member who experienced cruelty and neglect. FATE seems
focused on patient-centered quality care and quality of
life. Based on our research, no one else can make this
same claim. Thank you. The Walsh Family, Belmont,

"Thank you for your continual advocacy for those who
have no voice. You are an angel with a sharp
sword of truth and justice!" Deborah Short,
Yuba City, CA |
 |
"Thanks to FATE for all the hard work and dedication to
the elderly. Carole was a total blessing
to me in every way when helping me with my mother who
had dementia. You will never know how many people FATE
has touched and how thankful we all are for the work you
do." Kathie Martinelli - Camino, CA |
 |
"During Christmas last year, I was having great
difficulty getting anyone to help me with issues with my
mother who was in a nursing home. FATE took the
time to listen, took action to help and got results.
FATE's work is so important and it is a blessing to have
FATE providing this vital and necessary service to the
public." Diana Fredrich - Livermore, CA |
 |
"FATE saved my mother's life by arming me with
knowledge of Patients' Rights when my mother
was a patient in a nursing home. I was then able to get
her out of the facility and into an acute hospital where
she was treated for pneumonia, UTI and over medication
even though I had instructed the facility in writing
that my mother was not to have any antipsychotic drugs."
Beth Records - Branford, CT |

"I want to thank FATE for
saving my husband's life as I truly think that
is exactly what happened. After Carole helped me to get
my husband off antipsychotic drugs while in a nursing
home, within five days he was mentally almost back to
his normal self. He has no memory of the four months
while he was on the drugs in the facility. I hope to
bring him home soon. Thanks for all the time, energy and
many wonderful things FATE has done for so many people."
Sue Spriggs - Sacramento, CA |

"My family was at the end of
their rope. We had no where to turn and we did
not know our rights. The elder care available through
traditional methods was substandard at best. That's when
I called FATE. I would recommend this amazing
organization to anyone seeking protection for their
elderly and sick loved ones. Without FATE, the
end of my father's life would have been a tragedy. But
with FATE, and their invaluable services, the end was
filled with honor, respect and dignity." Anne Bruce
